Part of your nighttime ritual should include shutting down all electronic equipment at least one hour before going to sleep.
The blue and white light from your TV, phones, and other devices prevents your body from releasing melatonin, which helps you to fall asleep.
Be intentional about keeping your eyes off of your screens at night and see if you can notice the difference in the quality of your sleep.
I use an app called twlight on my phone and flux on my computer that automatically dims my screens and turns the blue lights to red at night so it is easier on the eyes. Then an hour before bed I try not to look at screens altogether.
